2nd Houghton Brownies

2nd Houghton-le-Spring Rainbows Sleepover Rainbow overnights have recently been introduced to the Rainbow programme and I thought this would be a good opportunity to take my sleepover licence. We had a joint sleepover with 2nd Usworth Rainbows and had a total of 12 girls. The theme of the sleepover was Fairies and the girls did a variety of “Fairy” themed crafts. The girls did a wide game which was working towards their “working together” badge which was presented to them in church by Joan Beattie who organised the game. They had a great time and could not wait to go to bed at the end of the day. Girls are asking when the next sleepover will be!!!!

The Brownie Programme has three sections: (YOU. WORLD. COMMUNITY)

"We enjoyed a day at Kirby Lonsdale with Angela Whittaker and her Family in July. The unit entered the Houghton Feast Parade, our theme was `Mary, Mary Quite Contrary' and we won the most original cup. The Girls went to see the pantomime Aladdin and afterwards we were asked to go on stage and meet the cast, we also had our photographs taken with the cast on stage. Eight girls attended a sleepover in March, the theme was Easter Weekend we had a treat to the Pictures to see The Magic Roundabout, and then back to the Hall for tea and the making of Easter crafts. The girls each made an Easter bonnet and paraded into Church the following morning wearing them."
