Map and Directions

Inevitably when
giving directions people will say: "You can't miss it!".
Well in our case this is almost true, no matter which way you come
into Houghton-le-Spring you can see St.Michael's.
The main road
running through our town is the A690, a dual carriageway that joins
Durham & Sunderland approaches from the south-west and north east
respectively. In both directions you get a fine view of our church
as you approach Houghton. If you're coming from either the east (Seaham)
or west (Chester-le-Street) follow the signs for the town centre and
we're at the bottom of Church street on the Broadway. The map above
will be a help to those who know their left from their right and their
north from their south!
As well as generous
parking in Church street, there are places for approximately 20 cars
behind St.Michael's for visitors if you drive through the arch at
the front of the building. Please be aware that the road is tight
and winding and only suitable for cars.
