Extra Time Out
for Women
Extra Time-out is a group of women from
St. Michaels, who primarily meet in the Kepier Hall on the last Thursday
of each month. We offer support and companionship to each other through
a variety of activities.
Extra Time Out at the Pancake
House
We were picked
up from Houghton Church around 6:30 by a pre-arranged mini-bus. There
were around 16 of us, all looking forward to the meal (most with a
bottle in hand).
We arrived at our destination
– The Pancake House in Durham at 7:00. At this point, I must
admit that I arrived late (I had already attended an earlier 1st birthday
party), so I missed the greetings. The girls were already tucking
into the wine and we selected our first course of pancakes.
I picked a pancake
stuffed with mushroom, spinach and some kind of cheese that I definitely
can’t either spell or pronounce. The first course was delicious.
Surprisingly,
the sweet was also pancakes, of which there was a choice of 4 (yes,
4!) different sweet concoctions all of which sounded absolutely delicious,
or a scone selection.
Tea or coffee
was available for those who had to drive or had run out of wine…
A thoroughly enjoyable
evening was had by all. Good food, wine and company in a restaurant
all to ourselves. What more could you ask for?
Thanks to Sheila,
Karen and Dawn for organising the evening, I’m sure I am not
the only one looking forward to the next time.

Looking to the future, our group will be offering
fund-raising activities at our Summer Fair (Kepier Hall, behind the
Church) to be held on Saturday, 9th June from 10am – 2pm. Please
come and meet our group there and hear about our future meetings.

And here we are in the kepier at the
last Summer Fair persuading passers by to part with their cash in
a good cause!
We would encourage any new member to join us, perhaps
ring Lynn or any members known to you first to check the agenda and
confirm where our group is meeting.
Extra Time-out.
